Meeting will be hosted on Monday, June 7^th @ 7:00pm in the Middle School Cafeteria.

We are excited to announce the Ida Elementary PTA Members and the Ida Middle School PTO Representatives have made a decision to combine into one organization with a new structure.  In addition, we would like to invite parents from the high school to join the newly structured team of parents who will be working in cooperation with one another to focus on new programs and initiatives for our students.  As always  teacher and administration feedback and involvement is encouraged.

Some of the benefits of us joining together to work as a team are:

Increased communication between the parents, administration, and teachers

Greater marketing power to promote and support all events being hosted by each group for different programs

Parents will learn what is happening in each school so they are prepared to move to the next level when their children change schools

Creation of new programs which can be supported in each school

A greater understanding of the academic requirements and support structure developed to help our students be successful as they grow

A way to understand the challenges and needs shared by our teachers and administration

Financial savings – Insurance costs are high.  By combining we will pay one policy.

Realizing our parent involvement at Ida Public Schools is very strong we are hoping by working together we can accomplish a lot more in this financially challenging time for our school.   Understanding of course our first commitment is to the youth of our community.

We truly hope the new structure will be a success, and we encourage and welcome your involvement.  The structure of the group representing the parent organization will be as follows:

Parent  Representative/s Grades K-8 and 9-12 if we have high school  parents would like to participate

The formation of our new team will be will be conducted in a combined PTA/PTO meeting on Monday, June 7^th in the Middle School Cafeteria at 7:00pm. We realize this is baseball season and if you cannot attend, but would like to be an officer or class representative, please let us know.   Next year one meeting will be hosted each month to share information on activities and programs.  In addition, we will keep the checking accounts separate, unless of course there is one big initiative we want to focus on for the students, which would allow us to combine funds.

Over the years the parents of these organizations  have created and supported many programs, Youth Basketball, Youth Football, Walking Program, YMCA Field Trips, Field Trips, Book Fairs, Santas Secret Shop, Robotics, Go Green, Purchase of Time Trackers, School/Teacher Supplies, Blood Drives, Theatre, Playground Equipment, Talent Shows, Harlem Wizards Basketball, Basketball Clinics, School Open Houses, Family Movie Nights, Roller Skating, Daddy/Daughter Dances, Mother/Son Events, Dances, Teacher Appreciation, Family Bowling, Purchase AR Books & Tests, Fund Book It Carnival, and Technology.  It is our goal to continue to work in cooperation with the administration to continue to develop strong programs for the students in Ida.  Once again we welcome and encourage your participation.  Please join us!
